YCP Program Goals & Outcomes:
Nutrition Initiative for Children and Families (NICF)
FY11 Goal: Provide nutrition education to at least 1,400 adults
Outcome: A total of 2,193 participants -- 1,489 adults and 704 seniors
New Goal for FY12: 80% or more of participants will show increased knowledge, changes in attitudes, intentions and behaviors about healthier eating habits through changes reflected in the pre/post evaluation.
FY11 Goal: Children enrolled in classes will make at least one field trip to farmers market or working farm
Outcome: 83 children traveled to local Farmers Markets and 38 children and parents traveled to Katchkie Farm, Columbia County, NY
New Goal for FY12: 80% or more of participants will show increased knowledge, changes in attitude, intentions and behaviors about healthier eating habits through changes reflected in the pre/post evaluation
Choice Pantry
FY11 Goal: Provide 7,600 households with food.
Outcome: 15,831 households received healthy, nutritious food.
New Goal for FY12: Provide 7,000 households with food.
365 YCP Case Management
FY11 Goal: Insure that at least 25% of YCP clients receive services other than food, such as Food Stamps, Public Assistance,
and SSI/SSD, resulting in at least $1.1 million in new benefits. Ensure that 100% of new pantry
participants are screened for social services.
Outcome: 42% of clients, a total of 2,937 households, received services other than food. In addition, 100% of new
households, a total of 3,390 were screened for services. With the help of onsite partners, new benefits
of $3,475,477 were accessed for pantry clients.
New Goal for FY12: Secure at least $2.5 million in new benefits for participants. Ensure 220 households receive legal
counseling services from on-site provider. Ensure at least 270 households receive multiple benefits.
Hot Meal Program
FY11 Goal: Provide at least 83,380 meals, a 10% increase over last year, and turn no one away hungry.
Outcome: 90,774 meals served—8% over goal—and no one was turned away hungry.
New Goal for FY12: Provide at least 85,000 meals
